Mexican rapper Dayra Fyah lives in Ecatepec, a Mexico City suburb with one of the highest rates of killings and disappearances in the country.
In 2017 alone, more than 3,200 women were murdered in Mexico – with most victims between the ages of 21 and 30. In Ecatepec, the situation has become so dangerous for women that the government issued a gender violence alert. But Dayra Fyah is fighting back, organizing self-defense classes for girls in her community. Her goal is to save the lives of women, including her teenage daughter.
