Paraponera clavata species of ant is commonly known as bullet ant. It lives in humid rainforests of Nicaragua, Honduras, and Paraguay. Due to its severely potent sting, native people refer to it as bola, means bullet. It is reported that just a single sting of this ant is so painful, that it feels like shot with a gun.
In this short film of Brave Wilderness, the author travel to the rainforest of Costa Rica, a country in Central America that is to the north bordered by Nicaragua, to find bullet ants and then stung by one of it. After search of several days, he finds out bullet ants and caught one of it. Before stung by bullet ant, the author gets some basic safety and took all the proper medical precautions. After stung, the author is grunting and screaming due to extremely severe pain and he feels like his arm becomes paralyzed. The film is amazing and somewhat terrible at the moment when the author is getting stung.
