Each year US spends more than $80 billion to keep two million prisoners behind the bars and is a country in the World that locks up the largest number of people.

Due to the tough punishment laws, the prison population in the country has doubled over the past 30 years. Laws like ‘Three Strikes and You’re Out’ for a wide range of crimes giving rise to life sentences.

Why US put so many people in prisons and what is the reason of new shove of California for mercy? The activists who campaign for changing the three-strike law in California are also attempting to raise consciousness about situations within prisons. They are objecting the use of special security units at most security prisons.
